On-Call Compensation

The payment of on-call compensation may be appropriate when overtime-eligible, non-bargaining unit employees, and occasionally exempt employees, by prior agreement or because of their specific job description, are regularly required to be available for specific time periods to report to work outside their regularly scheduled hours. An employee who is not on-call by prior agreement or job description yet is asked to come to work outside their normal schedule is not subject to the on-call policy.

The administration of on-call work and the determination of the amount of on-call compensation will be managed locally.

Travel time to and from work shall not be considered as time worked.

On-call compensation must be included for the purposes of computing overtime pay for overtime-eligible non-bargaining unit employees.
