Blanche Ames Ames (1878-1969) was an artist, activist, and suffragist. She was the inspiration behind the naming of the 'Blanche Ames' crabapple, and was married to Arboretum supervisor Oakes Ames. This 55-minute documentary explores Ames' extraordinary life and legacy, and features an interview with Arboretum Head of the Library and Archives Lisa Pearson.Hosted by the Jamaica Plain branch of the Boston Public Library and co-sponsored by the Jamaica Plain Historical Society, Boston Women's Heritage Trail, and the Arboretum.
