Family Meals with Harvard University Dining Services (HUDS)

Every year, HUDS donates thousands of pounds of fresh, nutritious leftovers from the end of meals in our dining halls to the Cambridge-based food rescue organization Food for Free. Several times a week, volunteers help us package those leftovers into individual meals, called Family Meals. These are then shared with people who have limited access to kitchens, such as students struggling with hunger while trying to learn or families sheltered in hotels, without access to kitchens.

HUDS, invites University affiliates to join us in this volunteer work. Graduate students, faculty or staff can lend a hand any Wednesday by assembling a team of five to seven people. You will enjoy a group lunch in the dining hall and then participate in a plate-up.
