The Past, Present, and Future of DNA

Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Knafel Center

This science symposium will focus on the explosion of knowledge about past and present DNA, and will include discussions about possible directions and applications for future research. The event will include experts in ancient DNA, de-extinction, human origins, population genetics, forensic science, ethics, business, future synthetic life, and the personal genome. Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead Evening Celebration

Harvard Ceramics: "Wishful Thinking" Opening Reception

“Wishful Thinking” – Jessica Brandl celebrates the great talent of ceramic artist Jessica Brandl as she completes her 2014-2015 residency at the Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard. Brandl’s work references objects and images from museum collections to create a dialog with the present. Her most recent work involves 3D scanning and virtual modeling of historic objects in order to link past craftspeople to present day craft production.
