Deep Stage 3 sleep, or restorative sleep is the stage of sleep most responsible for mending the wear and tear of daily life and rejuvenating the mind/body. And while the body wants to spend about 20% of the night in stage 3 sleep most people get much less stage 3 sleep. The results are lower levels of energy, more body pain and the experience of waking up feeling less restored.
