The Arnold Arboretum and China

Date:

Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Location:

Arnold Arboretum - 125 Arborway, Boston, MA

The Arnold Arboretum began collaborating with scientists and plant experts in China in 1907 with the first Arboretum-sponsored expedition by famed plant explorer Ernest Henry Wilson. Join us at the Weld Hill Research Building on May 22 at 6:00pm for a special event and reception celebrating the history and successes of this longtime partnership to explore, collect, and preserve China's rich biodiversity. View specimens from our Bonsai & Penjing Collection, see highlights of the documentary Chinese Wilson, and view then-and-now photographs of China taken in the early 1900s by Wilson and in our time by Professor Yin Kaipu of the Chengdu Institute of Biology.

For more information and to RSVP by Tuesday, May 8, email Janetta Stringfellow, Director of Institutional Advancement, or call 617.384.5043.
