Exploring Science Together: Owls!

Study the secretive world of owls! Learn together with hands-on activities about bird beaks and feet and examine real specimens from our museum collections. Learn about the specific owl adaptations that make them incredible nocturnal predators, by investigating real feathers and bones. Dissect owl pellets to learn the details of an owl’s midnight snack. Listen carefully as you learn to identify owls by call. All activities are designed to be fun and interactive experiences for elementary age students and their families to participate in together.

Fees: $10 members/$20 nonmembers, per person. Price includes admission to the museum. Participants are encouraged to come early or stay late and explore the museum before or after class. These programs are not appropriate for children under 5 years of age. Families must register at least one adult and one child for this program.
