Introduction to Photoshop

Participants will learn about the capture, enhancement, and publication for print of photographs in Photoshop.

 

1) Orientation to the Photoshop Work Environment
  • Tools, menus, tool options, panels, customizing the workspace
 
2) Making basic photo corrections
  • Resolution and image size, straightening and cropping images, adjusting color and tone, repairing imagesusing various tools
 
3) Working with selections
  • understanding what a selection is, working with various tools to isolate and attain selections, manipulating selections
 
4) Working with layers
  • Understanding how layers work, creating and arranging layers, applying layer styles, adding adjustment layers
 
5) Preparing and saving images for web and print
  • Using the save for web dialog, understanding colorspaces and printing options
