Repeats every week every Saturday until Sat Jun 16 2018

Location:

Boston Nature Center and Arnold Arboretum
Photographer Steve McGrath will teach a series of photography workshops. Note that cell phone cameras are not appropriate for these classes. Sessions are limited to 15 people and pre-registration is required.

Session One - June 2: Macro/Close Up Photography
This session will show you ways to use your existing camera gear to make spectacular macro photographs. The close-up world is a magical place full of pattern, color, and abstract imagery. Flowers become abstract works of art; rusty doors become textured canvasses; stones become polished gems; butterflies and other insects can become sci-fi monsters! Location: Boston Nature Center

Session Two - June 9: Panoramic Photography Learn techniques for taking properly exposed and composed images and then combining those images to create beautiful panoramic photographs using a Photoshop program. This class will be extremely hands on and will require you to bring a camera capable of Manual settings and a tripod, if you have one. If you do not have a tripod, several will be available for student use. If you have a laptop with any version of Photoshop, including Elements, bring that as well. A few laptops will be available for use in the classroom for students to use. Location: Boston Nature Center

Session Three - June 16: Garden Photography
Learn to sharpen your awareness of light on the landscape. This course is ideal for the intermediate photographer with some knowledge of manual camera settings. Steve will reveal his tips and techniques for taking quality close up shots as well as landscape photographs. This course is informative for both digital and SLS (film) photography. Bring a camera with macro capabilities, a sturdy tripod and a large memory card. Location: Arnold Arboretum

Fee per session: $30 member, $40 nonmember
