Tree Mob™! What Tilia Can Tell Us

Dr. Elizabeth (Lizzie) M. Wolkovich, Associate Professor of Forest & Conservation Sciences at University of British Columbia, returns to the Arnold Arboretum for a phenology update. She will discuss how leafing times, flowering times, and fruiting times are related — or if there isn't really much of a relationship for some trees — and why it matters. Meet on Peters Hill at Acc. #1323-82*A Tilia americana(American basswood), a species on the Peters Hill Tree Spotters route, on Wednesday, June 5th at 4:30pm. Park along Bussey Street, keeping your tires off the sidewalk, and follow signs to the mob.

Parking: Park along Bussey Street to enter at Peters Hill Gate. Follow Peters Hill Road to the left. Tree Mob signs will be posted. 

Public Transportation: Take the MBTA Orange Line to Forest Hills. At the upper level of the station, cross Washington Street and go to the left to Washington Street Gate to Blackwell Footpath. Follow Blackwell Footpath to its terminus. Cross street and enter South Street Gate. Once inside the Arboretum, follow the paved road and turn left at the intersection, continuing to Bussey Street Gate. Cross Bussey Street to Peters Hill Gate and follow Peters Hill Road to the left. Tree Mob signs will be posted. Allow 20 minutes.
