Join us as Cat Chamberlain, Fellow of the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and PhD candidate, and Ginny Zanger, established artist and current exhibiting artist with the Arnold Arboretum, talk about their observations, experimentation, and how they each embody the same need to understand climate change.

Essential work is being done today on climate change. Experimentation in laboratories, observation in controlled settings, as well as in landscapes like the Arnold Arboretum, allow scientists to understand and monitor changes in phenology. Researcher Cat Chamberlain devotes her research to studying these changes. Artist Ginny Zanger met with Cat and was challenged to interpret these changes visually, not with a photograph, or a graph, but with an artist’s aesthetic. Hers is a personal vision, often hauntingly beautiful, and like Cat’s, charged with care and concern. Look at the art, hear the science, think again about climate change through this pairing, and perhaps you yourself will find a brand-new, exciting way in.
