Does the University match donations made through the Harvard Community Gifts program?

No. Harvard generally doesn’t match charitable donations, in part because of its own non-profit status and mission.  However, the University does underwrite the administrative costs of the Harvard Community Gifts program, through which our generous faculty and staff have given over $5 million over the past ten years.

When will I get information about my 25 Year Recognition gift?

At 25 years of service, eligible faculty and staff receive a choice of commemorative gifts (most people select a Harvard arm chair) as a gesture of Harvard’s thanks and appreciation. These gifts are generally awarded at the beginning of each year for those who attained 25 years of benefits-eligible service in the prior calendar year. Where can I find a tour of Harvard’s campus?

A tour is a great way to get to know the campus! Harvard Information Center, located in the Smith Campus Center, offers free student-led walking tours through Harvard Yard. Tours are one hour and provide a general overview of the main Cambridge camps and University history. The Information Center also has maps for self-guided walking tours. For details and schedule, as well as links to tour information at the graduate schools go here. The Admissions Office offers separate tours for prospective students.

I just enrolled in my benefits – when will I receive my new ID cards for my medical plan, dental plan, vision, etc.?

You will receive your (benefit) ID cards approximately two to three weeks after you make your online election. They will be sent to your home address directly from the insurance carrier you have selected. You will receive a separate card from OptumRx (formerly Catamaran) for prescription coverage. In the event of an emergency prior to the issuance of the cards, please contact the Benefits Office.

Please note: OptumRx, Delta Dental and Davis Vision will not provide a card in the name of a covered dependent, although they will provide a duplicate card with your name on it for a...

What happens to my benefits if my address changes?

If you are moving, it’s important to update your home address in PeopleSoft Self Service. It is also important to know that if you are enrolled in an HMO plan and have moved outside the Plan’s service area OR are enrolled in the PPO plan and have moved into the Plan’s service area, your coverage will automatically terminate retroactively to the date of the address change.
