How do I hire and onboard my intern?

Once interviews are complete and a finalist has been selected, the SYEP Program Team will extend an offer. Once an offer is accepted, the school/unit will be informed and should follow their typical, local onboarding processes for hiring their SYEP intern. All student interns will need to come on campus to fill out an I-9 with their local HR office at least 2 weeks prior to their start date. This will ensure all onboarding is completed by the start of the program/orientation. Once complete, the I-9 should be sent to Central Payroll for processing. Once cleared, the student can then be hired as a temporary HS student worker in PeopleSoft (job code 700035). At that point, an HUID is generated.
