Access to Harvard’s programs and facilities for overall wellness provide essential opportunities to exercise, manage stress and stay healthy. Facilities are convenient to campus and memberships are inexpensive.
Harvard’s two medical plans, HUGHP and BCBSMA, both provide a fitness reimbursement for members of up $150 per year for membership at gyms/fitness facilities or eligible weight-loss program. For 2020 only, this benefit has been extended to cover cardiovascular-related online fitness class subscriptions and new or used home exercise equipment purchases (such as treadmills, stationary bikes, and stepping, elliptical and rowing machines).

Harvard Athletics Facilities
Harvard’s athletics facilities and resources are available to staff, faculty, students, alumni and eligible family members. Annual or semester memberships, expert personal training and fitness classes offer as many options as private gyms, at reasonable rates.

Depending upon the facility, there are also basketball and squash courts, pools, personal training rooms, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, rowing, sailing, skating and more. Some facilities require additional membership fees.
Inexpensive memberships are available online. For a small additional cost, members may take advantage of exercise classes, including cycling, Zumba, yoga, total body conditioning, rowing and more. Those with 15+ years of Harvard service receive additional membership discounts.
