 Jane Lubchenco was the first woman to be appointed Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Drawing on her experience at the helm of NOAA from 2009 to 2013, Lubchenco will discuss how this government agency advances and utilizes scientific research on weather, climate, and oceans to guide its services and improve environmental stewardship in the United States. The Art of Botanical Drawing: A Four-week Course

Four Saturdays: April 9, 16, 23 and 30
9:30 -11:30 am

Explore the beauty and variety of plant forms using pencil, watercolor, and colored pencil. This four-week course will introduce botanical drawing techniques through close observation and practice with contour, gesture, foreshortening, shading, and color. All skill levels are welcome.

Observe and draw the beauty of butterflies and moths in this three-hour color workshop. This program will introduce some observational drawing techniques with pencil, and then delve into colored pencils to create a rich, vibrant image. All skill levels are welcome.
