Film: Tacita Dean’s Kodak

Tacita Dean’s film Kodak (2006; 16 mm; 44 min.) is set within a closing Kodak motion-picture film factory in Chalon-sur-Saône, France. Vivid and luminous, Kodak uses the medium of film to explore its own manufacture and contemplate its precarious status in the 21st century, given the rise of digital production. While Kodak is typically exhibited as an installation, we have the unique opportunity to experience Dean’s investigation of cultural obsolescence in the cinema at Menschel Hall.

This course provides hands-on training on shopping for office and lab supplies in the HCOM Marketplace, creating purchase orders for contractors and consultants, paying invoices and honorariums, and processing reimbursements to students and non-employees. Participants must have login access to HCOM at least one week prior to attending this course and must have their HarvardKey and Duo access with them in order to participate in the class exercises. It is recommended that participants take the Chart of Accounts class and the online HCOM class prior to attending this course.
