Great scenery and exercise, who could want more? Take a brisk walk this winter and stay healthy and connected to the Arboretum at a time when the landscape is pared down to its beautiful bones. This walk emphasizes fitness, with a healthy dose of information on seasonal highlights. Winter tours are geared to adults and led by trained Arboretum docents.

Learn from Harvard researcher Dr. Leah Somerville how the brain changes throughout the teenage years. Discover the truth behind many common myths. Get a behind the scenes look at how our MRI takes pictures of the brain-in-action. Compare the brains of different species by holding real specimens in your hands. Winter Bike Riding Workshop

Winter cycling presents a unique set of challenges for cyclists to remain safe. Specialists from CommonWheels will be on hand at the Ed Portal to help you gain the knowledge you need to ride safely all winter long. They’ll offer safety tips for riding in dark and/or inclement weather and offer suggestions on what types of safety equipment riders need.

Arnold Arboretum Lilac Sunday 2016 T-Shirt Contest

Lilac Sunday is an annual celebration of spring and the blooming of the extensive lilac collection at the Arboretum in Jamaica Plain. For many years, a t-shirt has been created as a memento of the event. We are looking for artists to submit designs for this year’s contest. Deadline for submissions is December 15, 2015.
