2017 HUECU Scholarship Program

HUECU's new Scholarship Program will be awarding five (5) $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program during the 2017-2018 academic year. Apply before March 1st!  Learn more at HUECU.org/scholarship.

ARTS FIRST is Harvard's annual showcase of student and faculty creativity. Produced by the Office for the Arts at Harvard and held this year April 27-30, the festival is a public event with many free performances and activities. Harvard employees and others are invited!

Please note that volunteers are needed and welcome in all aspects of keeping ARTS FIRST running smoothly.

25th Annual Arts First Festival - John Lithgow Medal Ceremony

Award-winning actor John Lithgow ’67 ArD ’05 is the recipient of the 2017 Harvard Arts Medal, which will be awarded by Harvard University President Drew Gilpin Faust at a ceremony on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 4 pm at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle St., Cambridge. The ceremony, presented by the Office for the Arts at Harvard and the Harvard University Board of Overseers in association with the American Repertory Theater, will include a discussion with Lithgow moderated by President Faust. Objective: This workshop will present the step-by-step process of sending records to off-site storage at the Records Center. We cover everything from how to assemble and pack a box to how to complete the deposit paperwork.

Who should attend: Employees who have not yet sent records to storage as well as anyone in charge of packing and depositing boxes who would like a refresher course.

Branching Out: The Art of Quilting by Pamela Goody - Artist's Reception

Fabric art for Pamela Goody became a freeing experience when she discovered she could create her own designs. Like singing, for which Goody is classically trained, her art evolved as a way to express her individuality. Goody quilts with a painterly eye, preparing a canvas of fabric, using materials with a variety of scale, texture, color, and design. Often, she paints, sponges, or stamps her own fabric, translating nature through the medium of fabric.
