Recognizing the importance and benefits of breastfeeding for working and student parents and their infants, Harvard provides more than 60 formal lactation rooms across the University. Any Harvard-affiliated nursing parent, including faculty, staff, students, and spouses/partners, can register to use a Harvard lactation room. For those without HUID cards, a smaller subset of campus lactation rooms is available.

**Register** to receive access to lactation rooms by completing the registration form (for your group) below. You will receive an automated confirmation email followed by a personalized instruction email.

**Please register as far in advance of first anticipated use date, if possible.** Please note that there are manual back-end processes that must be completed by the Office of Work/Life before you can use all aspects of the lactation-room system. These are typically completed within 48 hours of your registration (or longer over weekends and public holidays); while we try our best, same-day access can only be given in some cases. Email the [Office of Work/Life](mailto:worklife@harvard.edu) if needed.

Registration gives you:

1. **Access** to 60+ rooms across three campuses (see map linked below and this [Lactation Room list](/sites/g/files/omnuum6281/files/2025-07/campus_lactation_rooms_list.pdf "Campus Lactation Rooms List"))
2. **Activation** of your HUID card for lactation rooms, including entryway doors, elevators, stairwells, etc., to get you to the room
3. **Availability and reservations** via an existing or newly-created Roombook account, where you can check room availability and reserve a 30-minute slot (recurring as needed). The Roombook system includes any room-specific amenities and pincode information (for those doors with pinlocks).
