Making Changes in PeopleSoft – Active Faculty and Staff Members

Active faculty and staff should use PeopleSoft to make benefit changes and/or enroll in an FSA or HSA for 2020. Note that PeopleSoft works best with Firefox and Chrome. Open enrollment starts at 8 a.m., October 23, 2019 and closes at 11:59 p.m., November 6, 2019.

  1. Click on PeopleSoft Open Enrollment (live on October 23) or select the link to PeopleSoft at the top right of this page (or any page in hr.harvard.edu). Log in using your HarvardKey. (Make sure you are in the Self Service menu located on the top bar of the PeopleSoft landing page, and click on My Benefits.)
  2. On the Benefits Enrollment page, click the Select button and your benefits information will appear. The screen will show your benefit elections effective January 1, 2020 if you make no changes.
  3. To change your benefits elections and review information on your dependents, follow the online instructions. If you do not want to change elections or dependent information, hit the Submit button until you reach the Submit Benefit Choices page.
  4. If you make changes, remember to click the Submit button on the Submit Benefit Choices page. Your elections are not complete until you hit the final Submit button.

If you need special assistance: If you are not able to complete your changes online in PeopleSoft during the Open Enrollment period for any reason, call Benefits at 617-496-4001 before November 6, 2019, so that other arrangements can be made.

Making Changes if You are a Retiree

Retirees cannot make Benefits Open Enrollment changes in PeopleSoft. If you are a retiree and want to make benefits changes for 2020, please contact Benefits by November 6, 2019 at 617-496-4001 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday or benefits@harvard.edu to request the necessary forms, which will be sent to you.
