In this introductory 2-hr workshop, you will learn and apply a framework to initiate, define, plan, and schedule a project. This course is intended for people leading a project who have little or no formal training in the project management process seeking an introduction to key concepts. Through this hands-on approach you apply tools and techniques and develop a project plan. Managers are invited to learn about and discuss the work of Julie Zhou, Asian American former tech executive and author of The Making of a Manager: What to Do When Everyone Looks to You. Participants convene at the end of the semester for a workshop designed for applying the learned concepts in your role at Harvard. The pre-work for this session includes a look at Zhou's work and relevant topics inspired by her perspective. This series is specifically designed to amplify authors of marginalized identities, lifting the voices and perspectives that represent diverse backgrounds.
