Drawing from the Present: Mindfulness and Art, May 22!

May 9, 2023

In these sessions, we will continue to explore mindfulness, using visual art exercises as a vehicle for practicing present-moment attention, an awareness that is open, curious, and non-judgmental.

This workshop requires no art experience. In fact, we won’t actually be “making art.” Our focus will be on mindfulness; if something delightful happens on paper, that will be a welcome bonus.

Each session will follow the same basic format: some sitting meditation to start, then a mindful art session, and then questions and discussion.

After registering, you will receive an email each month with the supply list to have on hand to participate. It’s good to have items such as copy paper and heavier paper like watercolor paper or cardstock.

We will be doing a variety of different art exercises using pens, pencils, crayons, markers, ink, and maybe some surprising everyday objects.

The pre-requisite for this class is participation in the 10/17/22 or the 1/23/23 introductory Mindfulness and Art session or a mindfulness practice.
