Bring any and all surplus furniture, supplies, and equipment to the Lobby of 124 Mt. Auburn Street. Clothing, books, office supplies, kitchen goods, toys, baby supplies, tools, hardware and any thing else reusable is welcome here. Whether or not you donate, you are welcome to take anything you want for free. These Freecycles save money, reduce Harvard’s waste, and conserve the embodied natural resources and energy in manufactured goods.

2017 Healthcare Reimbursement Program Deadline

This program provides financial assistance for faculty and nonunion staff who earn up to $110,000 annually, and are faced with high medical costs.  Reimbursement is for in-network, out-of-pocket expenses above specific thresholds. Employees must be enrolled in a Harvard sponsored HMO, POS, or PPO plan. You may apply for reimbursement by completing the Reimbursement Program form and submitting supporting documentation and receipts. Learn more... 2017 Fitness Reimbursement and Bike Commuter Benefit Deadlines

If you belonged to a health club or gym for at least four months during 2017 and are enrolled in either HUGHP or Harvard Pilgrim, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement of your health club membership fees. Both HUGHP and Harvard Pilgrim offer a Fitness Reimbursement Program that will reimburse you for up to $150 in membership fees for qualifying health clubs and gyms. If you have a Health Care and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account for 2017, all funds must be spent by March 15, 2018. Any unused funds will be forfeited. The deadline to submit 2017 FSA claims to Benefits Strategies is March 31, 2018.

HackLab: Halite AI Game Night

Halite is an open source artificial intelligence programming challenge, created by Two Sigma, where players build bots using the coding language of their choice to battle on a two-dimensional virtual board. The last bot standing or the bot with all the territory wins. Victory will require micromanaging of the movement of pieces, optimizing a bot’s combat ability, and braving a branching factor billions of times higher than that of Go.

The grand prize winner wins an all expenses paid trip to NYC to compete in the next level of the game!
